Upon updating our "River Kids Headquarters" in Second Life (Visitors with this software, it is searchable under "Places"), I met a neighbor of the property who works with a company called "Underwater Ordnance Recovery." This organization recovers both live and inert munitions from military dump sites, which include underwater reefs. In an attempt to protect the wildlife from the toxic heavy metals and chemicals that are products of ordnance's decomposition, they remove these bombs (Remember, these can be live munitions that are recovered. Imagine retrieving a bomb that could potentially explode as you lift it above water) and dispose of them properly. For more information, visit their website at www.uwuxo.com.
