RK Picnic Change

Hey everyone,

It seems like it was a crazy dream of mine to think that we could pull
together the picnic so quickly...I'm hearing from a few that say it's fine
and a lot that say they can't make it for various reasons.  There are a lot
of factors now playing a role in my decision, and I realize that it's a good
idea to try for a later date.

I'm thinking one afternoon the week of June 2-6.  Hopefully that's before
everyone leaves for vacations or camps...There are lots of people involved
with this picnic, so I know we won't be able to please everyone, but I'll
give everyone a chance to speak up.

Let me know if there are any afternoons that week that WILL NOT work for
you.  If I don't hear from you, I'll assume that all days will work and you
don't care which one we choose.

The choices are June 2,3,4,5, or 6.

Sorry to those who scrambled and planned to make it tomorrow!!!

RK Picnic

Hello there, everyone!

I haven't been neglecting the email duties around here, but I've been out
sick these past two weeks, so I haven't been able to do much of anything,
except harass my wife.  I'm always good for that.

So, here's the situation...even though it's really late notice, we'd like to
pull together an end-of-the-year picnic for River Kids families THIS FRIDAY.

We're thinking a pot-luck style gathering under one of the pavilions at
Heman Park.

Charlotte has agreed to bring the meat and some wine.  I'll bring the
charcoal and grilling goodies.  So we need a variety of sides, drinks, and
desserts with which to fill our bellies.

Drop me a line with a suggestion for what you will bring and I'll keep tabs
on what we've got coming.  And if no one's bringing a particular item of
desire, I'll throw out an email...

Note - we are aware that the 6th graders are coming back from Chi-town that
day...we're hoping they'll still be able to hang in there for one more dose
of fun in afternoon.  We just don't have enough days in the calendar from
which to choose, otherwise we'd swap out the date.

Looking forward to hearing of the goodies you'll be bringing.  We'll let you
know exactly which pavilion at which to gather ASAP.

See you soon!

Ben

Time For Picnic

Oops, neglected to mention...We're thinking everyone should come between
4-7pm with dinner in the 5-5:30 range.  Come and go as you please.  Stay as
long as you'd like.

Senator Jeff Smith

River Kids continues to generate a positive response from everyone who hears
about their accomplishments.  MO State Senator Jeff Smith will be attending
the New City School picnic in order to present a state resolution honoring
River Kids for their work.

Senator Smith will make his presentation following Tom Hoerr's presentation
of the awards to the teachers.

We would like all River Kids families to join us at the stage so the kids
can come up to receive the award and have a group picture taken with the
Senator.

Please have your River Kid at the stage by 6pm.

Thanks!

Immunizations

I really don't think the immunization portion of the med hist form is
crucial...I'm assuming our kids are up to date...if you think otherwise,
note that.

River Kids Dry Bags

Hey all!

Thought I'd let you know that we will be getting a new shipment in of
drybags with the River Kids logo on the side tomorrow.

They are large blue bags and will hold most or all of the gear necessary for
a short trip like this one.

We are selling them at cost to River Kids families - $22.  The bags retail
(without the logo) for 24.50, so it's a steal.  :)

Just swing by tomorrow after school or Friday if you're interested.
